Most people stay extremely busy in this modern world. People these days live more frantic and fast-paced lives than ever before, and by the looks of it things aren’t going to slow down anytime soon.
Whenever we think of losing weight, most of us picture things like personal trainers, countless hours in the gym, running on the treadmill, eating expensive organic foods, and spending hours upon hours in the dreaded kitchen.
If you take a look at the research, you’ll see that, as a nation, we’re the biggest and busiest than ever before in history. Because of this, more and more people are looking for different ways to shed the excess pounds and become healthier in general.
Most of the work people believe they must do to lose weight just isn’t necessary. The same is true whether you want to lose 100 pounds or just 5 pounds.
If you want the facts, then you need to appreciate that things, such as weight loss pills and exercise machines that you see advertised on late night infomercials just don’t bring about results. If people could lose weight simply by taking a pill, then everyone would look and feel fit and fantastic.
However you need not despair, because losing weight isn’t at all hard when you know what you’re doing.
Apply the following principles consistently and you will soon be in the best shape of your life in — literally — no time:
One: Cut The Bread Out Of Your Diet
Seriously even a piece of toast in the morning is bad for you if you want to lose weight. Literally, bread provides empty calories that will make you feel full, but give you no benefit when it comes to losing weight. While at first you may find it hard, know that if you just keep at it, then a few weeks later you won’t even notice that bread no longer has a place in your diet.
This one tip will help you lose a lot of weight in no time.
Two: Stop Eating Before You Feel Full
Most people eat way too much food when they sit down for a meal. Relatively new diseases, such as liver-related illnesses aren’t the result of what most people think, such as alcohol consumption, but because people eat way too much food.
These days most restaurants give their customers at least two times the food they need. That’s why it’s best to make your own meals if you want to lose weight.
Overcome this situation by eating until you feel satisfied and then eat a bit more. Once you reach this stage, just stop eating.
Once you begin to eat in this manner, you will feel truly incredible and energetic all day long. On top of that, if you live a busy life, then it will take less time to eat the foods you want to eat.
Three: Pack Your Food For Take Out
By this I don’t mean that you should start going nuts and buy unhealthy takeouts every single day. But instead next time you are in a restaurant you should only eat half the meal that they serve you and get the rest to go for later on.
This way, not only will you have to cook less, but you’ll save yourself a lot more time and money.
Four: Avoid Drinking Your Calories
The truth is that a lot of us end up drinking the vast majority of the calories that we take in. Most of these represent empty, worthless sugars that don’t benefit us. Things like coffee, lattes, sugary drinks, smoothies etc.
I would recommend that if you want to lose weight then you should completely avoid these types of drinks and stick to water.
That innocent latte that you drink every day can slowly, but surely, result in you packing on an extra 20 pounds a year without you knowing it. This is why most people gain weight without even realizing it. If losing weight is your priority, then take this seriously.
Five: Know The Core Reason Why You Want To Lose Weight
While there is absolutely nothing wrong with losing weight for the purpose of looking good naked, you need to know that this alone will not help you get the results you want.
A lot of the people die these days because they are extremely overweight.
Along with looking good, the best way to stay motivated is to actually make sure that you lose weight for the benefit of your long term health.
Six: Snacking
The western world has literally become a nation of snackers. People go through their days constantly eating something. Often times, they snack on the wrong things like, bars of chocolate, crisps, sweets, and the like.
The best way to reduce the amount that you actually snack is to slow down and become more conscious of the foods that you eat. This will naturally help you reduce the calories you consume.
Another tip in terms of snacking involves slowly replace all the rubbish things you eat with healthy alternatives, such as fruit or nuts. Over time you will find that you will enjoy them much more anyway.
Habits are the essence of successful human beings, so make it a habit to eat a lot more healthy snacks.
Of course the great thing is that busy people can also eat healthier snacks because you can now buy them pre prepared in all major supermarkets.
Seven: Take Lunch Seriously
The truth is that most of us busy people just don’t have the time to sit down and eat a healthy lunch because we sit at our desks, trying to get as much work done as possible. Check out these tips for changing that:
If you usually prepare unhealthy lunches at home, then instead of buying processed ingredients, take the time to buy healthier alternatives that are good for you.
Work to buy lots of vegetables that you can put into salads. This way you can whip up a good salad in no time.
Believe me, making a salad is not only tasty and good for you but it’s actually easier to prepare than a microwave lunch.
If you are one of those people that eat at the workplace cafe, then I’d recommend that you order the healthier salad instead of things like sandwiches or burgers.
If you can stick to this tip, then you will find that losing weight will become a walk in the park. The excess fat will just melt off your body in no time.
Eight: Get Used To Preparing Your Meals In Advance
Are you always too tired after work to prepare a meal that is actually good and healthy for you? Of course, there probably isn’t one person who is an exception to that. But you can still prepare healthy dinners for yourself in record time.
You should note that the best way to make sure that you eat a healthy dinner involves preparing your dinners in advance.
If you can make it a habit to actually prepare all your favorite dinners at the beginning of the week, then you could lose that excess weight, rapidly.
At the end of the day the best thing you can do is actually reduce the amount of food that you consume at every meal. Don’t drink your calories, stop consuming pre packaged meals, and keep striving to eat healthier each day.
If you can keep up this healthy lifestyle consistently, you can lose a lot of weight in no time, even as a busy professional.

Great advice Thomas, I lost 70 lbs by doing almost the same things you’re describing. I stopped eating bread and other carbs, pack my lunch, eat less, drink water instead of sweetened drinks, use smarter portions and, just like you said, learn how to stop eating when you’re no longer hungry, not when you are full.
Another thing that seemed to work for me was to eat slower. It sounds a little crazy but I would chew my bites of food 100 times and wait several minutes before taking another bite.
