HerHighway Puts Rubber on the Road for Breast Cancer

Christina Selter of HerHighway

Captivating the country – Christina combines love of cars with a cause.

What is the HerHighway Drive for Breast Cancer Awareness? Well, it’s a cross-country drive event created and championed by HerHighway Editor-in-Chief, Christina Selter. HerHighway.com is a one-of-a-kind website that empowers women with bumper-to-bumper automobile knowledge. Automotive journalist and sometime racecar driver, Selter, found a unique way to combine her extensive automotive expertise with her concern about this devastating disease.

Driving Breast Cancer Awareness KIA Style

The eight day road trip for breast cancer awareness begins on September 25th in Los Angeles and ends on October 2nd with an empire state of mind right in New York city. KIA Motors America has partnered with HerHighway for this monumental event – donating new cars that the HerHighway crew will later auction off, then giving all the funds to breast cancer research initiatives.

KIA

KIA – A car company that really cares.

Over 100 lucky women will participate in the event and drive the amazing KIA vehicles, including moi, All Media Freelance, LLC CEO and Medtopicwriter Editor-in-Chief, Samantha Gluck (Go Drive Team 8!). But that’s not where the story ends – Medtopicwriter and Freelance Writing Dreams Managing Editor, Amy E. Shoultz, PhD, will participate as a home team member.

Shoultz will tweet about the event from home during the eight-day tour. If you haven’t had a chance to check out the tantalizing word-candy in her tweets, you’re missing out. She’ll lasso you into her charmed Texas world of cowboy boots and sparkle with a tip of her hat and a sweet tweet. Follow her @AmyShoultzPhD.

Women Pro Racers Put Breast Cancer on Notice

Racer Melanie Troxel

Buckle Up America, Melanie’s revving her engines.

Women pro racers put breast cancer on notice with HerHighway. Buckle up America – the HerHighway crew will own the road from September 25th to October 2nd. Racers Shea Holbrook, Ashley Van Dyke, Melanie Troxel, and numerous others will drive breast cancer awareness to the finish line. Check out all the participating ladies’ features.

Once you see the gaggle of amazing gals who are puttin’ the pedal to the metal, you’ll surely want to tag along for a virtual ride. Use the #HerHighway hashtag and follow @HerHighway on Twitter to check everyone’s progress along the way and tweet about the gifts the participating businesses are giving the gals at the various pit stops along the way.

Sponsors like Cover Girl® makeup, DibaTrue shoes, Covercraft custom car covers, and many more amazing brands along the way will provide comforts and luxuries at each city pit stop. I think I can speak for all of us when I say, “We’re so excited, we can hardly stand it!”

A Personal Word of Thanks

I’d like to send out a very special thanks to Christina Selter and all those who worked so hard to put this event together. Your diligence, perseverance, and generous spirits provide an ongoing inspiration to everyone watching – and lots of people are watching.

Heartfelt kudos and thanks to luxury travel blogger, brand ambassador, and social media advisor extraordinaire, Ann Tran, for her continued support of all things humanitarian and for contacting me about this incredible opportunity to pay it forward.

You never cease to inspire me, Ann. Thank you.

Oh, and don’t forget to follow along and tweet some shout-outs of support and love to both the drive teams and home team participants. They all ROCK! One more thing – All Media Freelance, LLC client and good friend, Amy Tippins of RockScar Love designs, will also tweet from home to support the drivers as we make our way across America.

Zoom Zoom. #HerHighway is revved up and ready to ride!
